Wolf Pack Planning Whalers Alumni Game

CT Guns Hockey team, comprised of first responders from all over the state, are playing the Hartford Whalers and Hartford Wolfpack Alumni, Saturday February 24th at 4:00 pm. at the XL Center. The proceeds will benefit the Hartford Police Athletic League Hockey Program.

Tom Dundon, the new owner of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, made news this week that resonated with Hartford hockey fans when he said he might be interested in using the beloved Whalers’ logo to help promote the team.

Dundon said he’d even consider dressing his team in throwback Whalers jerseys for some games in the future and play “Brass Bonzana” in the team’s arena.

But Whalers fans won’t have to wait that long to see players wearing the green again. And these players have already grown comfortable doing so.

The XL Center and Wolf Pack announced Thursday that a special Whalers/Wolf Pack alumni game will be played prior to the Wolf Pack’s home game Feb. 24 against the Providence Bruins at the XL Center.

Among the players scheduled to play are Norm Barnes, Bill Bennett, Yvon Corriveau, Bob Crawford, Scott Daniels, David Jensen, Brian Propp, Steven Rice, Blaine Stoughton, Terry Virtue and Terry Yake.
